Poko products are suitable for all skin types, from acne-prone oily skin to dry, dehydrated skin. However, if you have allergies or sensitive skin, we strongly advise you to do a patch test first or ask your doctor for advice.

In order to carry out a patch test, on a clean face take a small amount of the product and apply. Wait 24 hours to see if any irritation, swelling or itchyness occurs before using the product as intended.

How quickly you see a result depends on the product you're using. For example, our Purifying Gel Cleanser and moisturisers will get to work immediately, but some of our other products may take a bit longer to show results. However, all effective skincare products take time to work, and you should anticipate seeing results from any new addition to your skincare routine in four to six weeks.

Sometimes our products change colour, but this doesn't mean they are expired or harmful. The change usually occurs due to the hemp content, and the colour shift simply indicates that the hemp used in the product is of the highest quality and is completely natural. It is a normal organic reaction that occurs when the product is exposed to light and oxygen.

Many ingredients in skincare are unsafe to use while pregnant (such as some essential oils, retinoids, and hydroquinone, to name a few), and every woman's pregnancy is different and has various risk factors. Evening is the time to apply specialised treatments after cleansing, using products such as our AHA Exfoliating Treatment or Azelaic Acid Spot Gel that work their magic as you sleep. Instead of sun cream, your last step at night is to apply a replenishing moisturiser that will protect your skin as you sleep.
